Bullett Transmission Coolers

TRANSMISSION COOLERS WITH BARBED FITTINGS
One of the most overlooked item when assembling a street or race car is the automatic transmission cooler. They are installed in the radiator as a heat exchanger on most production vehicles and only when you get to heavy towing vehicles do they install them as a separate unit. Most aftermarket radiators are not equipped with cooler provisions and sometimes the line is simply bypassed on the transmission and routed in a loop. This practice can severly shorten the life of your transmission, cause erratic shifts and internal damage from overheated components. A 20 degree drop in transmission fluid temperature can double the life of automatic transmission components, give more reliable and consistent shifts under racing conditions and help prevents damage under extreme towing condiditions.

Even on a vehicle with a cooler in the radiator, installing an external cooler is beneficial because it does two things. One, it removes the heat of the transmission fluid from the radiator and can help promote a cooler running engine. But two, and most importantly, the external cooler has much high cooling efficiency being in cool air rather than an internal heat exhanger that is in already 200 plus degree water.

Bullett Transmission Coolers come in 6 different sizes that are rated by GVW (Ground Vehicle Weight). Another thing to consider is the size of the unit and if it will fit the space available. Each size and rating is available with either a billet barbed fitting or -06 AN hose fitting for securing the hoses.
