Cooling your vehicle's engine is one of the single most important processes performed. Every internal combustion engine has to be cooled in some fashion to dissipate the heat created by the engine internally. Without a cooling system they would simply overhead and quit working.

At the heart of the cooling process is some type of fan. Many use a mechanical fan that is bolted to the water pump, but these rob your engine of horsepower and are working when you engine potentially does not need it to, say in cold weather when it is trying to warm up. Since the mid-80's electric fans have became widely used by OE manufactures as a primary fan source. Electric fans allow for more control of when the fan runs which results in being able to control the temperature of the engine without robbing your engine of horsepower. Through the years these fans have been improved upon. There are many types of electrical fans that vary in size and capacity.
